Pioneers in Australia's Mobile Gaming Landscape
Founded in 2011 by former AAA game developers James Mitchell and Sarah Chen, Royalsome began as a small consulting firm focused on helping traditional game studios transition to mobile platforms. In the early days, our team of five operated from a modest office in Melbourne's emerging tech district, leveraging their combined experience from companies like Electronic Arts and Halfbrick Studios.
The turning point came in 2013 when we partnered with a local indie developer to transform their struggling PC game into "Outback Adventure" – a mobile title that unexpectedly topped the Australian App Store charts for three consecutive weeks. This success highlighted a significant gap in the market: Australian developers needed specialized guidance to navigate the unique challenges of mobile game development and marketing.
Over the next decade, Royalsome evolved from a consulting service into a comprehensive mobile game development partner, expanding our team to include specialists in every aspect of the development process – from initial concept and monetization strategy to post-launch support and optimization. Today, with offices in Melbourne and Sydney, our team of 45 talented professionals has helped launch over 230 successful mobile games, generating more than 42 million downloads worldwide.
As Australia's mobile gaming industry continues to flourish, Royalsome remains at the forefront of innovation, committed to elevating local developers onto the global stage while preserving the unique creative perspective that Australian games bring to players worldwide.
